Top Selling Painting Subjects
According to research (and many painters know this), there are subjects that sell better than others.
Traditional landscapes sell the best. These usually include trees in settings of winter accenting plains with the sky slightly dim. It could also be a picture of autumn where the leaves are colored bright orange.
Next best sellers are local views, views that are familiar to people. This may include landmarks like the Opera House of Australia or a picture with the Statue of Liberty of the United States. This may also include views like the San Francisco bridge or a local port where seagulls frequent and people visit to relax.
The next is modern or semi-abstract landscapes which may include famous views with a twist. Think of artistically created paintings of the night lights of New York.
Some opt to have a gallery where they could display their painting for sale. Some may opt to use ecommerce software to sell their paintings online.
